Why Choose Kenjgewin Teg?
A Message From Our Executive Director ...
It is my pleasure to share with you some exciting education and training opportunities available for you here at Kenjgewin Teg.

Kenjgewin Teg welcomes all students (Indigenous and non-Indigenous) who are ready to pursue their academic goals while gaining a greater understanding of the Mnidoo Mnising Anishinabek.   Our Anishinabek worldview is a part of not only our teaching model but is also part of our learning systems as an Indigenous Institute in Ontario - we call this "Anishinaabe Aadziwin"!

Kenjgewin Teg has carefully planned many different training pathways for you.  We want you to know that as a potential student, there are various delivery models and programs that can help you get one step closer to reaching your education goals.  As you invest in yourself, as you invest in your future, the first (maybe even scary!) step is to meet and talk to us - we can then help you choose the best pathway or post secondary program that best meets your goals.  We can support you with many courses and programs, wherever you may be in your learning at this time:
  • Ontario Secondary School Courses (OSSD)
  • Maawndoo Kinoomaagasiwin - Literacy and Basic Skills
  • Mshiigaade Miikan - Paid Learning/Skills Development
  • More Pathways programs, upgrading options for readiness to access post-secondary programs
  • Additional access to most College and University Programs delivered via Contact North (online)
  • PSE Programs on site at Kenjgewin Teg with our partners - see our current PSE offerings here in our newsletter starting Sept 2019
  • Trades Programs on site at Kenjgewin Teg's new Anishinabek Skills, Innovation and Research Centre
  • Skills Development and General Interest courses (check out our calendar!)
  • Additional Qualifications (AQ) Courses for Educators hosted every Summer
  • Camps for Kids hosted every summer
  • Early Learning Programs for Educators, Children and Parents
  • AND! Embedding Anishinabe Aaadizwin in our place of learning for all students, in all our on-site programs
It has been said by leaders in education in Ontario, that any student who seeks advanced and higher education will be able to access it without financial barriers.  With various funding options available  to students ranging from community sponsorship, OSAP, awards, and bursaries, our team at Kenjgewin Teg is ready to help you to reach your education pathway goals.

Kenjgewin Teg is a community-based site that cultivates small class sizes and individual attention to your learning success.  We value Anishinabe Aadziwin teachings and our Anishinabek Traditional Knowledge - we aim to embed the knowledge of Elders throughout our on-site programs and learning environment.  Anishinaabe Aadziwin learning is always your choice, at your pace, and with your free-will.

We will not only support your academic learning, but also your personal, spiritual and emotional wellness while you are with us. One thing is for sure: if you want to succeed we will do everything we can to ensure you do too!

We are located in M’Chigeeng First Nation, centrally located on Manitoulin Island (Mnidoo Mnising).  Please come in or send us an email to meet our Post Secondary and Pathways teams.  We would be excited to help you enroll in one of our many courses or programs of study.

Your future awaits you!

Yours in education,

Stephanie Roy, M.A, (OCT), Ph.D. Candidate
