Welcome Back Rogers Park Families!

I am so excited to begin a wonderful new school year at Rogers Park. The construction is wrapping up and the teachers are returning this week. We are getting everything prepared for our awesome students who start walking through the door on Tuesday, August 20.

Our Ice Cream Social will be Friday, August 16 from 4:00-5:00 pm. This is a chance to check the class lists and meet your teacher for the year. We will be having the Ice Cream Social outside on the playground. Please do not enter the school, just come on around to the playground.

Many of you are registered and all set, however there are still some families who have not registered online yet. If your child is NOT REGISTERED, your child WILL NOT be on a class list. If you need help with your log in or password on Parent Connect please call the office between 8am and 3pm Monday-Friday. If you are unsure if you are completely registered, please call the office to check.

Mark your calendar for Thursday, September 5 for our Open House. This will be your opportunity to see your child’s classroom. We combine two events into one night, so from 5:30-6:30 only the parents of the Highly Gifted program come for a review of the math curriculum and to meet your child’s math teacher. THEN at 6:30 ALL parents (Neighborhood and HG) come to the GYM for brief introductions and information from the principal. You will have the rest of the evening until 7:30 to visit your child’s homeroom teachers.

Thank you,
Nuri Johnsen
Principal

Be a Good Neighbor

People should not be turning into individual families' private driveways along Zarvis to turn around.
Please be thoughtful and respectful of those that live in our community right around the school grounds.

Please do not park in front of the private driveways during pick up, drop off and other times during school meetings and functions.
This can impede homeowners from getting in and out of their own driveways.
Pets on school grounds..

To help keep Rogers Park students safe.

No dogs on the premises during arrival and dismissal times, pets are great to have but some children are afraid of them and some have allergies to dogs, it is best to just leave them safe at home.

If you live in the neighborhood and sometimes walk your dog on the school grounds, please be considerate and pick up any of your dog’s waste, we want the children to have a safe and clean ground to play on.

Crosswalk Safety

Please be mindful of the kids in the neighborhood that walk to school.

Pay close attention to the crosswalk area and any stop signs on the street!

Some kids may be hard to see as they try to make their way across our neighborhood streets.

We want to be sure all the students make it to school safely.

Birthday treats!
It is exciting when it is your child's birthday and we want to make sure it is a great day for your child and everyone else.

Please contact your child's teacher before your child's big day so they can work with you if you plan on bringing in treats.

In addition, they can let you know of any allergies. All treats need to be nut free.
Stay in touch with the PTA via Facebook or their updated website.
