August 2019 Newsletter

*** Heads up everyone. This Friday, we were scheduled to play at the new Skinny Js in Conway. We are moving it up to September 6th 7-10 pm instead. Thanks to everyone for being patient and understanding.

Welcome to August and my newsletter, a couple of projects are under way. First, Sonny and I have been invited by Dr.’s Elista and Moriah Istre to showcase two of our songs, Uncle Alfred and Carolina Witness Trees, at the 104th Annual Meeting and Conference of the Association for the study of African American Life and History in October. Their presentation includes the story of Dennis “Denus” McGee, my Great Grandfather, the Dean of Cajun Music and Amadee Ardoin, and you can check them both out at Wikipedia and several other sights online, just type in their names and enjoy their history. We are beyond excited to be a part of this and I can’t wait to share the adventure with you. I am also excited to announce that Sonny, Jacob and myself are going to be recording Uncle Alfred this Sunday at Fellowship Hall Sounds in Little Rock with Jason Weinheimer! I will be posting sneak peeks ;) Skinny J’s is doing it again!! Sonny, Jacob and myself are opening their new restaurant in Conway this month on the 16th. Its going to be a great night and if you are interested you might call for a reservation. I have a feeling its going to be full :) We cannot wait!

As always, thank you for your continued love and support.
