Save to say we are delighted to announce that the gallery will reopen this week with an epic and highly anticipated duo-show show: Go Big or Go Home. An ode to maximalism in painting, this exhibition comes from the collaboration of two of SRG’s celebrated figures: Fiona Chandler and Jessica Watts. Come in and experience the ample presence of these formidable works in person from 10AM Thursday 15 August at the Sydney Road Gallery.

CREATIVE WOMEN'S CIRCLE
SRG’s Jaimee Paul will be speaking at the upcoming Creative Women’s Circle (CWC) event, alongside embroidery artist, lecturer and textiles curator – Mary Brown and ceramicist and graphic designer -Nicky Crowley, on the topic: Art is for Life (Longevity in the Arts). Listen to personal stories of women who have carved out creative careers in the art and design world – in the form tales both from the studio and from the business side of things. The CWC panel and discussion is hosted by Fiona Chandler and Saffron Craig in partnership with Many Art Gallery & Museum.

SRG’s Leonie Barton spent a week earlier this year in the Oatley Vineyards (formerly Craigmoor) in Mudgee. On location there, Leonie created and documented a brand-new series of signature ephemeral, site-specific works. We are delighted to be able to give you a sneak peak at her work – the first of fifteen label designs that Leonie was commissioned to realise for Oatley Wines’ Artist Series (below).
JAIMEE PAUL AT THE OTHER ART FAIR (TOAF)
Jaimee Paul will be returning to TOAF for the first time since her debut with the fair in 2017. Jaimee is among a number of SRG affiliates represented by Saatchi Art via the global event: Saffron Craig, Debbie Mackinnon, Fiona Verity, Catriona Pollard, Amanda Tye and Tricia Trinder - to name a few. Sydney’s sixth TOAF (2019) and will be held at The Cutaway at Barangaroo between 24-27 October. You will find Jaimee’s work showcased alongside one-hundred-and-nineteen other independent and emerging artists hand-picked by a committee of art-world experts.

SEAFORTH ART HUB CELEBRATION
Following on from the success of last year, Sydney Road Gallery is proud to present the second annual Art Hub Celebration. On Friday evening 06.10.2019 a Seaforth art-crawl will commence. Kick it off with a live musical performance at Artsmart Gallery on Ethel Street, and make your way down here to Sydney Road Gallery and revel in the twilight din of our local art community along the Sydney Road strip.
