In Case You Missed Your Chapter Meeting This Month...

We believe an informed and educated membership is a strong membership! So at our August Chapter Meetings, we gave a comprehensive presentation debriefing everyone on the status of contract negotiations.

We included a mediation update, a side-by-side comparison on where Local 21 and the City Administration stand on major workplace issues, and information about the next steps in the process. We answered questions to make sure everyone is on the same page.

If you weren't able to make it or want a refresher, we've got you covered. Click below to download a copy of the presentation, but make sure you try to make it to the next Chapter Meeting; it's imperative that everyone stay informed and it's an opportunity to get clarification about any questions you may have.

Labor Day 2019: Save the Date!

This Labor Day, Monday, September 2nd, there will be a historic gathering of FOUR joint Labor Councils at Snow Park in Oakland. The Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco, and San Mateo Labor Councils are hosting this fun day in the Park, with music, activities for the kids, and entertainment for all - with a few powerful speakers to inspire the work we do. Join us!

All union members, affiliates, families and friends, and Labor supporters are invited to join the day and festivities!

Local 21 Attends Night of Healing Vigil for Gun Violence Victims Organized by Congresswoman Barbara Lee

On Tuesday evening, Congresswoman Barbara Lee held a night of healing vigil to stand up against gun violence and speak out against white supremacy.

Local 21 members joined community members at Frank Ogawa Plaza for a gathering in solidarity with people impacted by the recent shootings in El Paso, Dayton, and Gilroy and all those affected by gun violence in the East Bay and around the country.

Alameda Labor Council Executive leader Liz Ortega spoke at the event, along with youth leaders, community activists, and local elected leaders. Through our grief and mourning, we will continue to fight for justice and peace.
