In Case You Missed Your Chapter Meeting This Month...
We believe an informed and educated membership is a strong membership! So at our August Chapter Meetings, we gave a comprehensive presentation debriefing everyone on the status of contract negotiations.

We included a mediation update, a side-by-side comparison on where Local 21 and the City Administration stand on major workplace issues, and information about the next steps in the process. We answered questions to make sure everyone is on the same page.

If you weren't able to make it or want a refresher, we've got you covered. Click below to download a copy of the presentation, but make sure you try to make it to the next Chapter Meeting; it's imperative that everyone stay informed and it's an opportunity to get clarification about any questions you may have.

If you have any questions about the presentation below, you can contact Sharon Jenkins, Jesse Kadjo, or Rebecca Ruiz at: SJenkins@ifpte21.org, JKadjo@ifpte21.org, and RRuiz@ifpte21.org.

Local 21 Oakland VP Anthony Reese, Executive Director Debra Grabelle, Chapter President Laura Takeshita, and Local 21 President Gus Vallejo.
Congresswoman Barbara Lee addresses the crowd at the vigil.
On Tuesday evening, Congresswoman Barbara Lee held a night of healing vigil to stand up against gun violence and speak out against white supremacy.

Local 21 members joined community members at Frank Ogawa Plaza for a gathering in solidarity with people impacted by the recent shootings in El Paso, Dayton, and Gilroy and all those affected by gun violence in the East Bay and around the country.

Alameda Labor Council Executive leader Liz Ortega spoke at the event, along with youth leaders, community activists, and local elected leaders. Through our grief and mourning, we will continue to fight for justice and peace.
