Taste of Soul Matters  Are you curious about exploring your own spirituality in a Unitarian Universalist context? Are you curious about how Soul Matters Sharing Circles work? If you’re wondering just what small group ministry might be like, but are reluctant to sign up for a larger commitment without trying it first, you are invited to participate in this one-time A Taste of Soul Matters meeting. Rev. Linda and Margaret Salt will be leading this group. This is open to everyone. We’ll meet on Tuesday, August 27 at the Fellowship from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. Please sign up with Lisa Olech by email, admin@starrkingfellowship.org or call 536-8908. The sooner you sign up, the sooner we can get you the materials for this meeting. Questions? Give Rev. Linda a call or email.

Meeting Space Changes: The new worship year is upon us and Starr King is seeing some exciting changes! One change that may affect many of you is the use of the downstairs classrooms as meeting space. Beginning in September, these rooms will not be available, so if your committee or group meets there regularly, PLEASE contact Lisa in the office to look at the other options. Our small conference room and small group meeting room downstairs are still available for groups of 6-8 people. Larger groups are asked to now meet in the Fellowship Hall. Again, Lisa is the keeper of the calendar, and knows who and what activities are currently occupying which rooms, so please check with her before you schedule your next meeting!

SKUUF Book Group The SKUUF  book group holds its next meeting on September 18th at 3:00 pm. The only requirement for attendance is to read the book.
The author is Tariq Ramadan a leading Muslim scholar, named by Time magazine as one of the 100 most important innovators of the 20th Century.
The book is In the Footsteps of the  Prophet, a biography of the Prophet  Muhammad, According to one review: "capturing a life that was often eventful, gripping, and highly charged. Ramadan provides both an intimate portrait of a man who was shy, kind, but determined, as well as a dramatic chronicle of a leader who launched a great religion and inspired a vast empire. More important, Ramadan presents the main events of the Prophet's life in a way that highlights his spiritual and ethical teachings.
