A Message from Pastor Tony

Many wonderful things have been happening as a result of God's goodness coupled with your support. As you read this newsletter I hope that it encourages you and reminds you that people, not projects, always come first!
Terry
Rick
This summer we had the privilege of baptizing two people.  Both Terry and Rick have been attending our meetings regularly but more importantly have been allowing Christ to transform their lives from the inside out. There is no greater joy for us than to be a part of lives being eternally changed.
Rosa, a woman from the block and a part of our family at Church on the Block recently committed herself into a short term rehab where she was able to overcome some harmful habits. Rosa is yet another example of someone connected to others within the community of Christ, sharing life together, and the amazing things that take place.
Dennis, a man who spent thirty years in prison, has been a staple within our budding ministry. He volunteers daily at the soup kitchen and is always looking out for others. Just the other day he saw a woman fishing food out of the garbage and stopped her. His heart was moved to give her money and provide food for her as he does for many of the indigent people he knows. It is wonderful to witness a man who spent thirty years in prison, who is now following Christ, constantly meeting the needs of others.  This stirs within our leadership team a stronger desire than ever to be a part of God's work to rebuild lives.
REAL FAITH, IN A REAL GOD, FOR THE REAL WORLD!

Building Into Lives

As a result of your loving support, Church on the Block has been able to bless many people this summer.  We purchased several air conditioners, paid court fines, and helped someone with the security deposit for their very first apartment!  Just last week we held our Back-to-School Outreach to the Block providing backpacks filled with school supplies for kids that live in the neighborhood.

This fall we are planning several more outreaches within the community in hopes of demonstrating the love of Christ in tangible ways that will impact people living in often desperate situations. Please continue to pray for Street Church Ministries and let us know if you would like to get involved in what God is doing through this ragamuffin ministry.
