We began to grow Microgreens for the health benefits for our family, and robust flavors of the Microgreens provide. This quickly turned into growing for our extended family, neighbors, and our friends.
This allowed us to establish a fulltime vertical Micro Farm here in Chicago in the Norwood Park Community. We implemented the equipment to regulate humidity, temperature, air circulation, and installed proper grow lighting. This enabled us to have complete control over the environment allowing us to use only organic non-GMO seeds, organic soil media, NO pesticides, NO fertilizers, NO chemicals.
We harvest our microgreens after 8-14 days of growth at the development of the cotyledon leaves (the first leaves). This is when the plant is at it's most nutrient dense flavorful stage.
