What's going on this coming Sunday, August 18:
> It's back to school for many in our congregation this week or the next!  We will send them into a new school year with a litany of blessing and prayer this Sunday during the 10:30 service.  Students, teachers, and school staff are encouraged to participate, and students should bring along their backpacks.
> We will welcome the Rev. Margaret A. Muncie as our guest celebrant and preacher.  Rev. Muncie is the executive director of Canterbury Counseling Center in Greenville, SC. She and her husband, our interim rector, Stephen Bolle, have two adult daughters, Victoria and Caroline, and a new grandson named Bradley. We thank Rev. Muncie for her service and kindness toward us.  Fr. Bolle is traveling to a special event this weekend.
> Main Street will be closed!  There will be road-work happening Sunday morning and afternoon.  Please use the back roads to get to church and allow a little extra time for getting there.

Other very important events to note:
> Be sure to join us on Sunday, August 25, for a full day of hospitality and fellowship with your parish family. We’ll have name-tags for everyone at the rear of the Nave to wear throughout our worship services. Following each service, we’ll be taking pictures in the courtyard to update our parish directory. Then we’ll share a potluck luncheon at the lakeside home of Camilla Cathcart, 180 Bloodworth Road, Waterloo, SC. Bring a side item or dessert to share, your lawn chairs, swimsuits and lake gear!
> Next Tuesday, August 20, at 11 AM join us at Wesley Commons for Holy Eucharist. Bring a friend and stay after for lunch.
> All are invited and encouraged to attend an informational meeting about the Resurrection Foundation on the evening of August 25 at 6:00 PM in Emmaus Hall.  We’ll be providing refreshments, so if you plan to attend, please send a note to the parish office at cor@episcopalgreenwood.org.
> Bill Updegraff will be offering watercolor classes at Resurrection beginning Sept 19th. Please call or email Marty Cobb with questions or to sign up, 992-6306 or martycobb@hotmail.com.
The Daughters of the King are delighted to announce that we will begin classes in September to prepare Resurrection women to be received into the St Margaret's Chapter of the Daughters of the King in early 2020. All Resurrection women are welcome. Please call Marty Cobb at 992-6306 or Noonie Fennell at 554-2050 for information about the Order or the classes.
> EfM needs you! EfM (Education for Ministry) is starting a new cohort for the year 2019-2020. We gather at Resurrection once a week for small group discussion and reflection on the bible, its historical context and biblical scholarship, as well as interlude books on related theological topics. EfM provides a kind of spiritual growth and theological education that you can get nowhere else. If you are curious about this program, contact Chuck McDonnell at mcdonnell.chuck@gmail.com or 864-321-9226. You might also speak with current members – Terri Bacon, Trish Craven, Elizabeth Floyd, Salley Hyatt, or recent graduates – Rebecca Long, Leslie McDonnell.
> Our Children’s Worship program needs some fresh faces on its roster of volunteers.  Volunteers serve once a month as either a storyteller or greeter and lead young children in worshipful wondering about the major stories of the bible. Anyone who enjoys sharing God’s story with little ones should consider this opportunity to serve. Contact Elizabeth Floyd if you have an interest, elizabeth@episcopalgreenwood.org.
It is not too early to seek sponsors for our Thanksgiving Day Race to be Thankful. We could use an enthusiastic, charismatic and possibly well-connected person to help obtain sponsors from area businesses and companies. If this sounds like you and you are willing to help, please contact Kim Russell at kimjer100@gmail.com or 344-8009. Compensation includes a free t shirt and a great amount of appreciation.
> The 5th Annual Music for Ministry is next Saturday, August 24, at North Side Baptist Church.  Events begin with a silent auction at 4:00.  You can buy tickets ($15) at Main Street UMC or Greater Greenwood United Ministries from 8:30 to noon or 1:00-4:00 PM.  Tickets will be sold at the door, but only if any are still available.

Pastoral Care in Transition: Fr. Bolle will be available for our pastoral needs throughout his time as our interim rector. You may reach him by phone at 864-554-3240 or email at stephen@episcopalgreenwood.org.
