Tomatoes, carrots and cucumbers are only a few of the many fresh options now growing on New York City’s largest rooftop farm: a 140,000-square-foot facility in Sunset Park.

The 2020 Census will do more than count the number of people living in America. It will also usher in the start of a redistricting process at the state government level as new maps are drawn to re-establish State Senate and Assembly districts that reflect population shifts since the last Census in 2010.

The producers of the new play, “No Brainer, or the Solution to Parasites,” call it “a gauzy and improbable fable, just right for a hot summer afternoon.”

There is arguably no one who knows Dyker Heights and Bay Ridge better than Fran Vella-Marrone. For over 35 years, she’s been a leader in the Dyker Heights community and is the longest-serving president of the Dyker Heights Civic Association. Vella-Marrone has also been a political activist, neighborhood advocate and is currently the chair of the Brooklyn Conservative Party.
