We have great news! Portuguese Bend Distilling will be present for Sunday’s Bixby Knolls beer trolley!
Simon Haxton, their partner and distiller, will host tastings of the spirits, describing the ingredients that they use, as well as where they're sourcing our California grains from 3-5pm at Lola’s Mexican Cuisine. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet Master Distiller Simon Haxton from Portuguese Bend Distilling; Long Beach’s first distillery!
There will be a limited amount of merchandise available on hand for purchase, and is first come first served.

Come to our new venue, Ambitious Ales on WEDNESDAY, August 28th. Tonight we'll be discussing and listening to "The Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd.
The Format: Before we get started, you can fill out an index card with a memory you have of a song on the album which will be read in between songs by the host. The host will share little known details and background about the album, will take questions, and will introduce each song. At the end of the night, stick around to fill out another index card with a suggestion for an album in the future.
The Rules: Mobile phone ringers must be off and enjoy yourself! Please use your library voices as to not disturb other attendees.

Bixby Knolls Clean-Up

Local residents are putting together a group of people to do basic, easy trash pick-up for one hour once a month on Long Beach Blvd. - San Antonio to Wardlow and West through Bixby Knolls West including Los Cerritos Park. If interested in beautifying and giving back to our neighborhood in this simple way, please RSVP on the Facebook event. Clean Streets - Cal Heights will mentor this new group and the City of Long Beach is already supportive.

Meet-up for the first clean-up at 8:00 am for about one hour on Sunday, August 25 near the bathrooms at Los Cerritos Park.
The group will meet, discuss objectives, dates, times, further donations of tools, etc. then begin with basic trash pick-up at the park.
Large bright orange trash bags and gloves have been donated by the Cal Heights crew.
Please bring your own trash pick-up sticks, gloves and any other tools you might want to use.
