Heritage Center Update -
The work on the adaptive reuse of the stable for the Heritage Center has been initiated.  The carpentry needed to meet the building codes for public use of the stable has been completed.  That work involved only remaking an entrance and exit door, but otherwise the stable remains intact.  We are about to go out to bid for the needed electrical and plumbing upgrades.  Barry Ford of Ford Folios, Inc. has been contracted to do the graphics for the display boards.  We're moving along, but still behind schedule.  Depending on how soon winter sets in, we may delay the opening until next spring.

Upcoming Events -
- August 25th -  The last day of our Summer Tours of The Farm! 345 Valley Falls Rd, between 1 PM & 3 PM.
- SAVE THE DATE - Annual Meeting, Sunday, Sep. 29, 1 PM. We are fortunate to have engaged the Connecticut State Historian, Walter Woodward and his "Band of Steady Habits".  They will present a program on CT history through music and song.  The six-member band came together as a group in 2014 to share their love of music, and to use their talents to help create a new kind of public history presentation.  Come join us! Park in the Valley Falls Park parking lot.
