Hi <<First Name>>

WONDERFUL WEEKEND OF MUSIC IN SEPTEMBER

We are excited to tell you about the incredible weekend of music coming up in Melbourne and Sydney on the weekend of 7 - 8 September.

FOJAM – SUNDAY 8 SEPTEMBER – MELBOURNE

For those in or visiting Melbourne, the new Jewish music festival FOJAM (Festival of Jewish Arts and Music) which is set to take place on Sunday, 8 September at the Melbourne Recital Centre is not to be missed.

Following in the ground-breaking footsteps of Shir Madness Melbourne, the new festival will be presenting an awesome line-up of cutting-edge Jewish talent under the theme, “Walk on the Wild Side”. FOJAM 2019 will feature over 135 artists using their work, bodies, voices and ideas to ignite discussion, influence change and spark personal revolutions.

For this festival the organisers have sought out local and international artists who ‘walk on the wild side’, performers who dramatise the timeless Jewish tradition of transformation and rebellion - from Lou Reed (via a tribute concert) to George Dreyfus, Deborah Conway to Vivien Goldman, Zackary Drucker to Asis D’Orange.

Amongst the many highlights will be the Song of Songs concert where a dozen beloved Australian performers, hand-picked by festival Patrons Deborah Conway and Willy Zygier, will reinterpret a favourite song by a Jewish songwriter in an unforgettable celebration of Jewish artists’ contribution to counter-culture. Featuring:

Paul Kelly - Vika Bull - Kate Ceberano - Clare Bowditch
Harry James Angus - Lisa Mitchell - Alma Zygier - iOTA
Benny Walker - James Henry - Alice Skye - Jacek Koman
