New Waste Watchers Workshops!
 
Reducing your waste is as easy as 1, 2, 3!  Three Waste Watchers Workshops on offer! Register for one or all three - the choice is yours. 

Workshop #1: Create Less Waste
This workshop is proudly hosted by the Mosman Park Primary School, but is open to anyone interested in reducing their waste!
When: Thursday 12 September 
Time: 6.00 - 8.45pm
Where: Mosman Park Primary School, in their library
Cost: $5 + Eventbrite fee.

Workshop#2: Beyond the Bins
This workshop is also hosted by the Mosman Park Primary School.
When: Thursday 19 September 
Time: 6.00 - 8.45pm
Where: Mosman Park Primary School, in their library
Cost: $5 + Eventbrite fee.

Workshop#3: Compost and worm-farming with Amy Warne
When: Sunday 22 September 
Time: 9.30AM - 12.30PM
Where: EarthWise, 315 Bagot Road Subiaco
Cost: $5 + Eventbrite fee.

Volunteers Needed - Perth Science Festival
 

Mindarie Regional Council is having a stall at this year's Perth Science Festival and is seeking WMRC volunteers to join them! 

The theme of the MRC stall will be 'Plastic - Not so Fantastic', and all volunteers get free entry to the event, so another perk for signing up!

Dates: Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 August
Time: two shifts to choose from 10am - 1pm or 1pm - 4pm

Location: Claremont Showgrounds, Robinson Pavilion

If you are a student, employee of a charity or social enterprise or a volunteer in a waste management field, you may be eligible to attend for free through an individual sponsored registration.

Go paperless!
 
Avoiding unnecessary junk mail is a simple way to cut paper clutter. If you haven't already, put a 'No Junk Mail' sticker on your mailbox!  Member council residents can pick up stickers for free from our new Admin Office in Subiaco!  We look forward to seeing you!

The South Metro Regional Council (SMRC) is hiring! If you are passionate about helping others learn how to reduce their waste, one of these jobs might be for you! 
  • Waste Education and Project Officer: responsibilities include community education, bin tagging/auditing supervision, attending community events.
  • Communications Manager: managing SMRC’s education and communications team, overseeing delivery of communications activities, implementing communications and community engagement strategies.
