Kids Work Over the Summer

Kate Swann is looking for only 5 more volunteers each Sunday to help with kids work over the summer to give our regular volunteers a well-earned rest! Everything will be planned and prepared for you. If you're interested in helping, please email Kate. If we can't find enough volunteers, then children will be in the services with their parents!

Summer Meet-Ups

St Nics families and Tiddlywinks group will be meeting every Wednesday at 10am during the school holidays in various locations in Durham. To stay up to date, "like" the Tiddlywinks or St Nics Families Facebook pages and read the notice sheet for more information.

If you, your family, or children are going on Christian camps or festivals this summer and would like to be prayed for, please let Kate Swann know.

Prayer for our Mission Links

There will be a chance to enjoy fellowship together and to pray for our mission links next Sunday afternoon, 25th August, at the home of David and Elizabeth Gregory-Smith, 2 west View, New Brancepeth.

We will start at 4-30 pm and finish at 6pm prompt. All are welcome.
Discovery at Nics is a space to learn, explore, and discover more about God, your neighbour, and yourself. The first Sunday will be our family service and the third we will continue our Theology for All series.

Not meeting in August

St. Nics Daily Prayer Diary

Sunday – For the global church. For the persecuted church across the world. For the church in Burundi and Lesotho with whom our diocese is linked. For our international mission partners across the world.

Monday – For Cranmer Hall, those who lead, teach and study there. For Philip Plyming & Emma Parker. For those discerning a call to ordained ministry and those both lay and ordained  struggling with the ministry to which they are called. That God might strengthen them in their walk and discipleship.

Tuesday – Pray for Kate and Brandon in the office, our housekeeping staff Becky, Claire and Ben and for Chris who keeps the church well maintained and cared for. For those who enable our worship on Sunday – those who play music, operate a/v and sound desks, the welcome team, the flower team, coffee makers, intercessors, those who read the lesson, those who enable our celebration of Holy Communion.

Wednesday – Pray for our clergy and readers – especially for our Vicar Arun Arora and our Curates Maeve Sherlock and Claire Elwood.

Thursday – Pray for the care of God’s creation. For the eco committee and the work of those who are passionate about being stewards of God’s earth. Pray for the work of those Christian organisations who challenge us to act responsibly.

Friday – For Kate Swann and all those who contribute to the work of the children and families team. For parents seeking to raise their children in the faith of Christ. For our Young adults, for the pressures they face as disciples in a fast changing world. For the recruitment of a youth worker.

Saturday – For the university and our work with students. For Zoe Mathias as she prepares for her new ministry. For our assistant student workers Ben Coleman, Sarah Garland, Vicky Penn and Seth Price. For those who teach at the university and those associated with it. That they are enabled to live as disciples in places of learning and that their lives may reflect the love of God.
