DifferentBrains.org is the 501(C)(3) nonprofit dedicated to ALL neurodiversity!

Different Brains' neurodiverse team members and interns produce media (including videos, podcasts, blogs, books, and documentaries) and provide free resources for all neurodiverse conditions — intellectual and developmental differences, neurological problems, and mental health challenges — while highlighting the people making a difference. Join us as we mentor the next generation of self-advocates and share the voices for acceptance, inclusion, awareness, education, employment, and equality from around the world!
IN THIS ISSUE:

Autism self-advocate and NeuroGuides founder & CEO J. David Hall discusses maximizing the potential of people on the spectrumDarlene Lancer, JD, MFT gives tips on overcoming trauma; "The Autism Doctor" Brian Udell, M.D. discusses what pediatricians should know about autism; self-advocate Eric Endlich, Ph.D. discusses how colleges can support neurodiverse students; Derek Dunston highlights airports that are becoming "sensory-friendly"; Spectrumly Speaking hosts Dr. Lori Butts and Haley Moss of tips for stress-management; and much more!

A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER, HACKIE REITMAN, M.D.:

I want to give a big Different Brains thanks to CreativeZen for having me as their August speaker. CreativeZen is a show put on by the American Advertising Federation of Greater Fort Lauderdale, as well as Choose954. Both are dedicated to highlighting the great art and culture Fort lauderdale has to offer, and it was a great experience for their message of creativity to join with our message of neurodiversity acceptance!

I also want to give kudos to Choose954's co-founder Evan Snow for hosting and facilitating, as well as our own board member Anita Mitchell for making the connection. I saw a lot of new and familiar faces there, and met some inspiring neurodivergent audience members that are perfect examples of why the work Different Brains does is so needed.

So thanks again to the CreativeZen initiative for doing such great things for culture in Fort Lauderdale, and for supporting and embracing neurodiversity!

-Hackie Reitman, M.D.
