Invitation to Potluck Lunch and Gathering with Grassroots Treaty Walkers
We invite you to gather with members of the Iskapowishak Grassroots Treaty Walk on Saturday, August 17th at SSUC. We will share in a potluck lunch at 12:00 pm just prior to their talk at 2:00 pm. Patrick Etherington, Sr. and Frances Whiskeychan, together with others of the Mushkegowuk territory of Treaty 9, have walked nearly 3000 km from Cochrane, Ontario to Edmonton enroute to Hinton to raise awareness regarding land and treaty rights.
In order to get to know the treaty walkers a little better and to be good hosts in welcoming them to our community, you're invited to a pre-talk lunch at noon. Bring a simple dish or lunch items to share. We will get to know our guests and connect with them before we hear their presentation at 2:00 pm.
