Engineer.ai is using people to build apps, study says robots should learn motive like humans, Bitfury launches AI division
This week a new study from the University of Birmingham suggests machines should understand motive the way humans do, blockchain company Bitfury launches AI division and a Ola acquihires Bengaluru-based AI startup Pikup.ai.
Startup Engineer.ai, which claims to use artificial intelligence to build apps, would be using human engineers instead.

The news comes amidst a trend of start-ups trying to attract customers and investors by claiming they are using AI for different purposes.

Amsterdam-based blockchain company Bitfury has just launched its artificial intelligence division, Reuters reported on Tuesday.

The firm’s co-founder and CEO Valery Vavilov said Bitfury is still in “research mode”, but will announce its first AI products later this year.

Ola acquihires Bengaluru-based AI startup Pikup.ai
Indian cab aggregator Ola has announced the acquisition of Bengaluru-based artificial intelligence startup Pikup.ai on Tuesday.

As part of the deal, which value was not disclosed, the team at Pikup.ai including founders Inder Singh and Ritwik Saikia will join Ola.
