Land Management Funding available

The Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation is pleased to announce the next intake of Land Stewardship Grants. This grant is available to pay for land management costs on properties owned and managed by BC Land Trusts, and was created through an endowment provided by the Province of BC. Applications are open until 4:30 pm on October 16, 2019. This funding opportunity only comes once every three years, so don’t miss out!

The Galiano Conservancy is celebrating 30 years of conservation on Galiano Island! If you missed their 7th Annual Musical Walkalong in August, there are still lots of ways to support this amazing organization all year long. Visit their website and check out this lovely video they created to promote the great work they do!

28-acre property protected on Lasqueti Island

Islands Trust Conservancy (ITC) and the Lasqueti Island Nature Conservancy (LINC) announce the success of their campaign to raise $250,000 to purchase the Salish View property on Lasqueti Island. The new nature reserve extends from the border of Squitty Bay Provincial Park, connecting the shoreline to the ridgetop and increasing the total protected area on Lasqueti Island to 428 hectares (1057 acres). SEPTEMBER 14
.  Join the Galiano Conservancy at the newly-planted Forage Forest to help grow this unique restoration project, learn about native plants, and make friends! Roll up your sleeves once a month on the second Saturday from 2 to 4 pm to plant seeds, remove invasive species, harvest foods and medicines, and develop trails. SEPTEMBER 21.  Learn tips and tricks to take beautiful photo portraits in nature at TLC The Land Conservancy’s September Passport to Nature event, 1 to 4 pm at beautiful Ayum Creek Regional Park. More info and Registration here.

SEPTEMBER 22 & 29
Salt Spring Island Conservancy presents Family Adventures in Nature - Sundays on the Reserve at Blackburn Lake Nature Reserve, 265 Blackburn Road. Children, drop in anytime between 1 and 4 pm for hands-on activities. Bring your adult(s). Admission is FREE. Materials and snacks provided. For children ages 6 to 12.

Sunday, September 22: “The Bees Knees” 
Make mason bee homes (for the Spring!), learn to make origami seed packets and go on a pollinator scavenger hunt.

Sunday, September 29: "The Animals of BLNR" 
Go on a habitat walk, make plaster casts of animals tracks and play animal bingo.

The Law Foundation of British Columbia has announced it's 2019 Project Funding application for non profit organizations in BC. See all the details and criteria for funding here.

Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation Enhancement & Restoration offers grants for a variety of conservation projects. Click here for the grant overview and information about the latest application deadlines.

Tree Canada offers various grants throughout the year to community groups, schools and individuals to aid their mission to plant and nurture trees in Canadian communities for the benefit of all. Find their list of grants here.

TD Friends of the Environment Foundation's grant submission deadlines for 2019 are now closed. Find more information here

The Victoria Foundation's offers yearly Community Grants. Find out more here.
