1st and 2nd Grade Classroom Visitation Update from Davis School
The Davis school administration team has come up with a plan that will allow returning 1st and 2nd grade students to have a sneak peek at their classroom location, and practice walking to their new classroom. On Monday, September 2nd (4:30 pm - 6:30 pm), Davis school will be open to allow students and parents to visit the school and to practice walking to their classroom. Classroom teacher's photos will be posted on classroom doors, but teachers will not be in the building. Students will be able to find their way to their classrooms and see where their lockers are. Volunteers will be available during this time to help find your way.
A note from Mrs. Benoit: "It is beneficial to your children if you focus on walking in and going directly to their class so they are confident on their first day of school. Please remember that teachers are very purposeful on how they set up the classroom and we ask that students do not move things in the classroom as teachers are trying to make the room look perfect for Tuesday morning. All families will have an opportunity to meet their child’s teacher the third week of school during Back to School Night. In the fall, we will host a formal opportunity for the community to see the new additions to the building and to have a fun community celebration. We will send out more information as the details become clear. Please know and reassure your children that there are many staff members ready to help them on the first day of school. They will see lots of smiling faces and we can help them even if they cannot remember their teachers name!
