Guest Parking
OR, Why Your Friend's Car Got Towed

A concern was expressed last night at the board meeting about guest parking and here's what I know:

  • We've been lax on enforcement because we've been busy.
  • Some of you don't know the rules (or don't care).
  • I just checked the lot and three out of three cars do not have passes.
  • It's time for things to change.

Here's what will happen:

  • I will check the parking lot periodically.
  • You MUST display a Lanai issued parking pass if you are parked in the guest parking spaces. Either blue or yellow passes are acceptable.
  • If you don't have a pass, I'll give you one warning and write your license plate down.
  • The next time, you'll be towed and you'll have to pay contact Wyatt's Towing for how to resolve the problem. (It's expensive).

If you don't have a parking pass, you'll need to come to the office during open office hours to get one. Don't just "put a sign" on the dashboard ... anybody in the neighborhood could do that!

IMPORTANT:

If you have a boyfriend or girlfriend who spends the night on a regular basis, they may not park in the guest parking ... nor can you. Cars parked in the guest parking for more than three days per month may be towed. If you have a family member who is visiting and needs to park for a longer period, you must get approval from the office in advance.

ALSO:

If your contractor needs to park on the property, they must have a Lanai issued parking pass too. Plan ahead and make sure you have a parking pass for them.
