and a sneak peak at a current unfinished work on the easel

JOHN REVILL: "Ethereal Barn Series #4" 24x36" oil on board $3900 (note: actual price for a 24x36 new 2019 John Revill is $7325 but since this is an older style John is allowing this to sell for almost half price.) It is a very early oil on board painted in 1972 at age 18 and is part of a series of 4 dilapidated barns in desert landscapes. Its ethereal light shines through the relic of a very old skeleton-like barn, with a golden castle remnant as anchor holding it down from blowing away in the wind. The painting is numbered #36 on the back--the latest painting he's working on is either 1000 or 1001, so this means that this painting is the 36th painting he had created; and at the tender age of 18 you can see that John was clearly intrigued by surrealism movement and destined for a career as an artist. We are so VERY proud and pleased to be able to share this Dali-esque painting with you because it is rare that an older surrealist work comes available through John's own studio. John is now finally ready to part with it, and we are lucky to be able to offer it to a keen collector. It also means he has taken care over the past few years, to clean, repaint parts and re-varnish the work to ready to collect. Anyone interested, we have other photos from this series to show you, all have been collected but then you can see what else inspired him during this very early period of his artistic career.

We at Lloyd Gallery are so proud to share that we sold John's original paintings when he was in his early 30's, and now he is 65 years old. What a joy to watch this great Canadian artist's career blossom and his talent is recognized. Originals are rare and few on the market. We sell his prints too but collectors, note that his originals are rarely parted with once collected, and should be considered Canadian treasures and treated with utmost respect and reverence for this exceptional man.
