~ THIS WEEKS TIP: MEAL PREP - SIMPLIFY YOUR HEALTH ~
Do you find you eat poorly when you do not have food prepared? If you do don’t feel bad! I do myself. There are tons of ways to stay on top of your meal situation! In the following paragraphs, I will discuss my tricks, and tips on staying on track with my meal prep!

Now I know you probably read the top portion and said “yeah I already knew that.” Am I right? Meal prepping is a hard habit to stay consistent with. Whether it’s counting macros for dieting purposes, or just being one step ahead of your busy schedule. Take it from me, I’ve had my fair share of battles staying consistent for the longest time. Personally, the reason why I struggled so much was because meal prep was BORING! And I think we can all agree to that, right? After you read this I hope you can add a little flavour to your cooking. Cooking is meant to be fun, and can be used as a huge tool to help with all your fitness, and health goals!

What you’ll need:

  • A free evening
  • Groceries
  • Tupperware ( glass)
  • Reminder notes set on repeat for the same day each week

Free evening:

In my personal experience, I found the most success by dedicating one evening a week to prepare my food for the remainder of those 7 days. You can pick any day of the week that works best for your schedule. Mine is on Sundays. Once you get the hang of it, meal prep only takes an hour or so! Depending on how much you eat, and how many people you are cooking for, may vary the time from person to person. I personally have a lot of fun prepping my meals each Week. I blast my favourite tunes in the kitchen, and dance and sing along to all T swizzles hits;) May differ from person to person. But that’s the great part about having this free evening! Find something you enjoy, and do it while waiting for your food to cook. This will make cooking a lot more tolerable.

Groceries:

I call this the plan stage. Have your grocery list made before you go shopping. Figure out what you would like to eat that week, and write the ingredients down. Once you have your list it’s time to put the blinders on! If you’re anything like me, and there are sweets around, it’s game over! That’s where this list comes in very handy! Get in, and get out with only the items you have on your list. This will help prevent you eating things that you know you shouldn’t. Once you have the groceries you are past the hard part. You have everything you need, all you have to do is cook it now!

Tupperware:

One simply cannot have enough Tupperware, and I stand by that statement. Try to use glass containers if possible. By using glass food storage, this will minimize the amount of environmental toxins added to your food, and the climate. Having enough containers to separate each meal for the specific days will speed up the process, and make it way more efficient. That way you don’t have to worry about trying to pack your lunch very day. Just grab one of your many filled Tupperware containers, and your off on your exciting day!

Setting a reminder:

The last useful tip I have for meal prepping, is setting a reminder in your phone. Set it to the same day each week to help keep you on track. I understand life gets busy, so it’s easy to forget about prepping. Trying following these tips for a few weeks and see if they help you be more productive in your daily lifestyle.

~ THE GOODS, NEWS AND UPDATES: CAM IS OFF TO TITLEIST SCHOOL! ~

Do you want to hit the ball straighter with more consistency and power? Then we’ve got good news for you! We’re pleased to announce that coach Cam will be in Oceanside California this weekend to participate in a Golf Training program run by the Titleist Performance Institute and will receive his Level 1 TPI coaching certification. He’ll be able to look at your swing and assess any mechanical issues you may be having, can alleviate any pain associated with your golf swing, give you flexibility, mobility and strength to properly swing the club and give you the power to hit the ball longer and with more consistency off the tee. Initial assessments can start booking upon his return on Monday, August 19th.

TPI CERTIFICATION

Designed for golf teaching professionals, medical practitioners and fitness trainers, the TPI Certification program is an evidence based, educational pathway designed to teach industry professionals how to increase player performance through a deep understanding of how the body functions during the golf swing.
We call this concept the Body-Swing Connection™.
