Following a disaster, 90% of smaller companies fail within a year unless they can resume operations within 5 days. Visit our new site to find resources to help your business prepare and recover from a disaster. (Thank you to our Mayoral Fellow, Zeke Jones, who compiled resources for us this summer!)

CFD Weekly Safety Tip
(Bonus) CFD in History: In Magnolia Cemetery there is a plot that belonged to the Aetna Volunteer Fire Co. (the Old Irish Volunteers) which the company used for the burial of its members and their families. The plot has several graves dating back to the 1800s. When the CFD was formed in 1882, the volunteers donated all of their assets to the new department including this plot, which was one of those assets. There are two small fire hydrants located on the front corners of the burial plot that were placed there by the CFD in the 1970s. The original footstone, pictured above, reads: "Volunteer Fireman, a kind remembrance is not too much to ask." Photo and background material courtesy of CFD Asst. Chief (ret.) Raymond Lloyd.
