Happy Sunday!
I had an experience the other day that I wanted to share with you
I was stand up paddle boarding with my boyfriend a few days ago for the first time. Toward the end of our time in the water, the wind kept pushing me toward the docks. After working and working to get away from them, I'd somehow still inch toward them, until I was right next to a boat. I panicked and froze, deciding that I was going to hit it. It didn't seem like there was any other option. I was ready to give up, when I heard my boyfriend call out to me to keep going. Instead of giving up, I gave it one last attempt, and to my surprise, I successfully got away from them. All the while, the owners of the boat were watching me, I must add. It was all quite embarrassing.
I feel like I learned something from this experience, or at least it re-taught me the power of perseverance. Sometimes we feel stuck because everything we're doing isn't working. We're trying and trying without any success, or indication that we're headed in the right direction. So we contemplate giving up. But we need to remind ourselves how sometimes it's after the final push that we see results.
We're not always working on our own timelines. There is so much that is out of our control. Sometimes it feels like we should be farther along, or we're not where we want to be, but if you're working to get somewhere and it's your absolute dream – just remember to hold on and keep going.
Have a great week!
Until next Sunday,
