Flagler College continues to monitor weather conditions

Saturday, Aug. 31, 3 p.m.

The Emergency Operations Team at Flagler College continues to monitor the path of Hurricane Dorian. The good news is that the storm appears to be pulling to the east. We are hopeful that this will minimize the impact on the St. Augustine area. This is still an uncertain situation and the storm can change course at any moment, but at this time we are encouraged. Given the most recent forecast, there are no changes to operations beyond what has been announced.

We will continue to monitor the storm and communicate updates as we know more. As a reminder to our students and employees, the campus will close Sunday, Sept. 1, at 3p.m. The campus will remain closed until conditions are safe for everyone to return. The closing of campus will include residence halls and all other campus offices and buildings. Students will need to make arrangements to leave campus by this time.

The campus is committed to making sure that every student has a safe place to go to during this time. The Office of Student Affairs has been working over the last 48 hours to reach out to every student on campus. Although, all students, residential and non-residential, should fill out the Hurricane Information Form before leaving campus so the College has the most up-to-date information.

While on campus before the closure, dining services will be available in a limited capacity.  The POD and Bistro are closed and will remain closed until campus reopens.  The Dining Hall will operate under normal hours on Saturday for dinner and will operate until 2 p.m. on Sunday serving brunch only.
