Sorry for the long email, but we hope you read through as we're excited to share what we have planned.

We're back!

The club is back for another season and I’m sure you’ll notice quite a few changes. We’ve been busily working through July to put together an amazing year of magical programming. We’ve been tight lipped but we’re excited to finally share it with you!

First off: we have a new meeting spot. We will be downtown near Dundas Subway Station. The Imperial Pub, one block east of Dundas Square, has a private room. So in addition to being more centrally located with easy TTC access and Green P parking across the street, you can also sneak out to get food during our meetings. We’ve also shifted our meeting date to the third Monday of the month (avoiding long weekends where necessary). This was a schedule change that made scheduling lectures a bit easier.

We have also revised the website. There is a NEWS page where we will be posting updates throughout the year and also sharing other magic goings on in Toronto. If you look to the sidebar towards the right of the page (or the bottom if you’re viewing on a mobile device) you’ll find all the ways to keep in touch. You can join the Facebook Group, follow us on Instagram, subscribe for email updates, follow the RSS feed (if you’re old enough to remember how that works!), or subscribe for email updates when the website gets updated. Simply put, we want you to know about everything magic that goes on in our community. And we’ve preserved the archive of photo galleries from our past events going back to about 2010.

And now the most important part: The Amazing magic to share with our members. This isn’t everything, but a taste of what’s in store.

You can sign up quickly and easily online. Or you can sign up in person at any of our meetings.

September - Michael Close

Michael is the celebrated author of the Workers series of books and, more recently, The Paradigm Shift. His work blends deviously clever magic tricks and deeply insightful essays about the performance and structure of magic that you can take away and apply towards the magic you already do.

More recently, Michael has been the magic consultant on Penn & Teller: Fool Us. Michael has worked behind the scenes coaching the hundreds of acts that have appeared on the show helping to refine their material to appear on national television.

October - Asi Wind

NYC-based Mentalist Asi Wind is one of magic’s most influential thinkers and performers. When he isn’t busy creating original magic for magician’s all over the world (including David Blaine) or winning awards (like the Merlin Award for the most original show, previously given to Penn & Teller and David Copperfield), Asi is touring the globe performing his show “Concert of the Mind”, which continues to received rave reviews and critical acclaim.

February - Carisa Hendrix

Nominated for the Magic Castle “Stage Magician of the Year” last year, winner of the Allan Slaight Award for “Rising Star”, co-host of the influential podcast SheZam… and proudly Canadian.

March - Mario the Maker Magician

A high energy kids performer from New York, Mario’s work show contains wildly original material blending magic with 3D printed props and robotics. If you are old enough to remember the legendary Del Ray and his mechanical marvels, imagine him on large quantities of caffein doing kids’ shows!

April - Ryan Plunkett

Co-author of the best selling book A New Angle and a sophisticated close-up performer who appears regularly at the Chicago Magic Lounge.

So we can’t wait for you to join us. You can sign up or renew in person at our first meeting. Or better, skip the line and register online.

We’re also bringing back our on-again-off-again tradition of miniature magic workshops at our meetings. So while the official programming starts at 7:00 PM, come early at 6:00 PM and bring some magic you’re working on to share!

See you in September!
