ECS Phone Number
and
Communication with the School

Today we reach a milestone in the life of Evangel Classical School.  We have our own phone number. Ideally, the number of marketing calls to my personal cell phone will plummet, our service to the families will reach new heights, the DOW will crest 30,000, and crime will end in Marysville.  But if not, we can at least talk about it by telephone.

The new ECS phone number is (360) 502-6950.

I repeat.  The new school number is (360) 502-6950.

The phone will be managed by the very competent Miss Dineke Bour.  If we are able, we’ll answer the phone; if we cannot answer it, we’re busy serving the students, teachers or other families and will get back to you as soon as we’re able in an appropriate fashion (e.g., text message, phone call, or email).  We’ll be treating it basically like a land line that is also able to send and receive text messages. Maybe some of the following examples will help.

Examples of When to Use the ECS Phone Number

When you want to...

  • contact the school or a particular teacher during the school day.
  • contact your student during the school day.
  • inform the school that you’re running late.
  • inform the school that your child is sick. (A text at 2:00am is fine!)
  • leave a voicemail for the school outside of school hours.
  • refer a friend to the school.

Examples of When to Use Mr. Sarr’s Cell Phone Number

When you…

  • need a shoulder to cry on.
  • wish to send money.
  • wish to invite the U.H.’s family over for dinner.
  • need to reach the school in a timely manner and cannot reach Dineke via the school phone number.
  • have a matter that pertains to Mr. Sarr directly.
  • you want to talk about bowmaking or my newest hobby: fire alarms.

Examples of When It’s Probably Best to Use Email

When you…

  • have a question that will require more than 30 seconds to answer and/or is not urgent (e.g., “Do you have any ideas for an online Spanish class for my daughter?” or “What kind of fire alarm does ________ Church have?”)
  • are informing us of something for a later date (e.g., “Hey, Dineke, we’ll be out of town on Thursday the 11th, so could you let Mrs. Hevia know?).
  • you have an inspirational email forward that promises to bless each recipient.

If you send a text to the school phone, please include your name, as the phone is not yet loaded with everyone’s contacts and will not recognize your number.

Please do not be offended if you text me during the day and I do not reply immediately or I refer you to the school phone number.  I do care, I still love your family, and I’m trying to be able to love all the families over the long-term, so I’m pulling in reinforcements to help manage the load.

All that said, once more, with feeling:

The new school number is (360) 502-6950.

Risus est bellum!
