This session will look at the rapidly growing tech sector in Montana and the impacts it is having on our state – both good and bad.  The discussion will feature experts from across Montana who bring different perspectives on the effects a growing tech sector could have on our local economy, our communities, and our state identity. We’ll invite audience participation on things that we can all do to help ensure that tech sector growth is a net benefit for all Montanans.

Facilitator – Pat LaPointe – Managing Director of Frontier Angels; Chairman of Early Stage MT.

10:15 am - 12:15 pm Managing Passion in an Intense World by Shannon Stober
Passion, defined as a strong and barely controllable emotion, is frequently cited as a critical element of leadership. And it’s true, our passion has the potential to inspire others and elevate our efforts. However, in our ever-intensifying world our passions can easily shift from barely controlled to uncontrolled, resulting in conditions that work both against us and the people we are engaged with. In this high-energy and interactive session, we’ll explore the roots of passion and review a variety of perspective-taking and emotional intelligence strategies that can be used to harness our passions and raise our leadership.
