Insight & Impact:news, ideas, research in social entrepreneurship and philanthropy from the Marshall Institute
This month:
We are about to welcome 40 students - our largest-ever cohort - onto the 2019/20 Executive MSc Social Business and Entrepreneurship programme. These students, who have come from all over the world to study at the Marshall Institute, are committed to putting social purpose at the heart of their business and management training.
This month we highlight the upcoming UN Sustainable Development Goals Summit: the first meeting between world leaders since the 17 targets were agreed in 2015. Also new this month... nearly 200 US CEOs have signed a new 'standard of corporate responsibility' in which they promise to acknowledge the role of ethical standards, community relations and supportive leadership in business; non-profit leadership will be the subject of a conference at Stanford University and leadership in the 21st century is the topic of our recommended podcast.
Plus...how does rapid change in a city impact social cohesion? Next week we will host a discussion on social integration in London between Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London, and Afua Hirsch, writer and broadcaster. Look out for the podcast after the event.
