Farmers Market moving to Saturdays Furthering goals to serve the community
The North Buffalo Farmers Market will be moving to Saturdays, 9:00 AM to Noon, starting September 7th and through October 26th. The location remains 780 Parkside Avenue. Organizers made the decision in conjunction with the North Park Community School (NPCS), Say Yes to Education Buffalo, and BestSelf Behavioral Health at the close of last year's season.
"It's a bold move," according to Patricia Banning, Market Founder and Manager. "We spoke with Principal Carla Graves and decided that we could better serve the community by changing the day of the week." The Market will now coincide with the school's Saturday Academies which are open to the public. The Community School model being implemented at NPCS has already proven successful in enriching the educational experience for students and families.
This first Saturday will feature kids activities provided by Rolly Pollies. Instructors from the company's 1669 Hertel Avenue location will engage children with an obstacle course and other fun stuff! Promoted as a "kids gym," Rolly Pollies offers gym classes for ages 4 months to 9 years old, birthday parties, open play with a set schedule, summer camps, music, Action Art, and Montessori Classes.
This is the Market's sixth year of operation with two years on the school campus. The Market is supported by Buffalo Public Schools Community Schools initiatives, Say Yes to Education and BestSelf Behavioral Health.
