Knitting Away in the Garden

September 2019 Newsletter

This must be the time of year for knitting. Out of the clear blue sky, granddaughter, Emily, has decided to she wants to learn and I have seen some people knitting around town -- at a restaurant we frequent as well as at the bus stop. My sister Kathy also knits a lot and I'm hoping I can get Emily over there sometime soon for some instruction. Also interesting is that when my daughter, Jessika, was young, she too was a knitter. I remember her telling me that it was wonderful stress reliever for her. I do know how but I'm not that good at it. I remember using a plastic "knitting jenny" that I made blankets for my dolls. Ah, the memories of simpler times.

Next weekend kicks off our fall/holiday event season. Promoters, both private and organizational, and the sellers, work diligently getting ready to put on the best event they can for you  Be sure you take a moment and tell them how much you appreciate them. A little kindness goes a long way.

The story began in 1889 when 20-year-old Morris Michtom immigrated to the USA from Lithuania. He married  Read more »
