I also have some news to share for parents of students in Pukepuke. Mr Scott Rawson will be away from school next term on medical leave. The good news is we have found a fantastic teacher to provide for all the learning and social needs needs of our amazing children in Scott's absence. Mrs Jane Metcalfe has accepted the fixed-term position and is very excited to be part of our GREAT school in Term 4. Jane is one of our regular relievers and already has a positive rapport with the students and staff. Scott will be back with us at the very start of 2020, ready to hit the ground running. We wish Scott a speedy recovery with his operation.
This Friday our senior students will not be skiing. Our Year 8 students will instead be away with me to Papakaio School for a Careers Day with all the Year 8 students from our North Otago Rural Schools. It is a fantastic day with inspirational speakers and interactive activities that look at possible career pathways for our students.
Next week we have the Waitaki Boys High School Polyfest group coming in to entertain us. It ties in beautifully as it is also Tongan language week. I am really looking forward to this fantastic experience.
I hope you all have a lovely week.
All the best,
Matt Bokser

There is a mountain of school uniform items that have not been claimed in the lost property box which is located in the office foyer.
Please come and have a look through to see if it belongs to your child/ren.
If unclaimed by Friday 6th September it will be put in the second hand clothing store.
Just a reminder that if your child/ren are biking to and from school to to please have a chat with them about road safety.
We want to ensure that all our lovely children are getting to and from school safe and sound.
A massive Waitaki Valley School thank you to LJ Hooker Oamaru for their continuous support to our school.
