The All Saints Missions Committee will be highlighting Adoption & Foster Care during Agape on 9/4 and 9/11. Come hear from families in our parish as well as members of our community about how adoption and foster care can be an act of local (and global) mission.
The All Saints Missions Committee envisions a Parish where the fruit of our baptism and of our common worship in Christ are to be shown like a light through our good works for each other, our community, and for the world, as we live out the commands of our Lord to love our neighbor as ourselves and to spread the Gospel of the Kingdom.

Welcome Silas & Nathaniel Fickley!
The twins were born on Friday, August 16. Natalie and the babies are doing well and returned home on August 19. Please help support and shower the family with love -- details below:
Take Them a Meal -- Prepare a dinner for Thomas, Natalie, Adam, John and James! It would be great to fill up the immediate weeks on the schedule first, and if you would like to contribute a second meal in coming months -- awesome! Sign up online here.
Prepare freezer meals -- From Sharon Hujik: "The Fickleys have a freezer and would welcome any freezer meals you could bring them. I thought that if each of us made her 3 freezer meals (the same recipe three times) then they would have a great stash of food to get them through the first year! What is a freezer meal? It's a meal that can be stored in a freezer and then popped into a crockpot or oven for a low prep dinner. If you are interested in joining me, please send an email to SHARON_HUJIK@yahoo.com. I would be glad to help you find a recipe if you don't know where to start. "
Baby Basket in the Undercroft -- All Saints tradition is to load a large laundry basket with baby items for the family. Natalie has requested: diapers (some newborn but mostly size 1 & 2), Aveeno products for mom & babies, diaper wipes, larabars, trail mix, and Amazon or Target gift cards! The basket will be in the Undercroft this Sunday (August 25) and remain there for a 2-3 weeks. Please bring your gifts and set them in or near the basket as you're able!

All Saints trip to Europe
For anyone who is interested, Chris James will be organizing and leading a trip and short course in France this spring, similar to the trip taken in May 2018. We will be studying the early and medieval church in France (and neighboring countries), including theology, art, archaeology, architecture, Christian life, and plainchant. The itinerary is provisional at this point: depending on interest, it could be identical to the previous trip, or an entirely new itinerary, including sites in eastern England or forays farther south in France and into northern Spain. Transportation, airfare, lodging, museum admissions & tours, and most meals are included in the total cost.
Please be considering this if you are interested; you can contact him by e-mail (chrisjames4@hotmail.com). The dates are tentative at this point, but the trip is provisionally planned for mid to late May. It would last 13 days, and the exact cost would depend on the number of interested people and destinations, but will be approximately $2,500.

Please save the date for the priestly ordination of Fr. Mark Perkins on Saturday, September 28, at 10:30 a.m. Look for more details in coming weeks on the ordination reception.

Clergy from All Saints are curating a new website, Earth & Altar, which is a growing resource for Anglo-Catholics. The site is in beginning stages, but is already a hub for Anglo-Catholic blogs and podcasts. You can also find articles by our Bishop Coadjutor!

Fr. Sean's Sermon for Trinity XI
Excerpt: Prayer requires the whole person. And while we might think that prayer is just intellective or only has to do with the will or affections, the body assists the powers of the soul. If you are having a hard time praying with humility, get down on your knees or prostrate. If you are having a hard time praising God for his great Glory, stand up, raise your hands and your soul will be lifted into praise.
The sermon audio is available online at allsaintscville.org. Full text will be posted Monday.
