Dear friends,
We just want to say a huge THANK YOU for your faithful prayers and generous gifts for the Bible Work in Egypt. As you remember, in our last update we shared about the summer activities. We still have a couple weeks of many Bible engagement programs for children, and we would appreciate your prayers. It is exciting to see families studying the Bible and growing in their faith together, and we just wanted to share a few examples for your encouragement.
 Miriam, age 13, was a little bit sad that this would be her last year to participate in the Think & Play competition, but she was also extremely happy and excited to surprise her family when she won one of the top prizes… a laundry machine!!! Miriam said, “I will give it to my older sister. She will get married this summer and it will be my gift to her. I got full-marks in the quiz, and I am so happy because I did my best studying Matthew. My favorite lesson is “70 x 7” in Mat 18, about forgiving others. In my village they seek revenge, and it makes me very scared and I worry. But I will join the Sunday school ministry so that I can teach about forgiveness. Thank you so much for making this competition and the event, and the quiz, and the gifts, and many, many good times that I and my family spent answering Matthew booklet.”
 Amira, another girl in the competition, said: “My mom and I became very close friends while we were answering the Matthew booklet and the question bank. My mom was very happy with the gifts too, and she felt she helped earn them!” Amira and her family live in Upper Egypt, and in the middle of a long, hot summer, the family was so grateful for the fan she won! Amira’s mother added, “We both learned together, praying and struggling to understand the Scripture. It was really a time of intense involvement. When I was her age I never had a beautiful Bible like this one that Amira won.”

We praise the Lord for our many partners who make such events possible. For many years, local business people have generously provided thousands of prizes for our events, from home appliances such as fans and washing machines, to remote control cars and soccer balls, to hygiene and beauty products. Along with Amira and Miriam and their families, we want to thank you for your partnership in serving the Church in Egypt.
