Update on OCPL's System

OCPL's system is coming back gradually. Most features that directly affect getting materials to patrons are working, including OverDrive/Libby and Hoopla, but some back-end features aren't functioning yet or are slow. In particular, logging into your account on the Web may or may not work since the process may time-out before it completes.
However, the library staff can now check items out into your account, look at your account, and place items on hold for you. The automatic system for notifying patrons when holds come in doesn't work, but we are calling each person we have a hold for. Please make sure we have your correct phone number and email address! Your account should be fully updated with holds, so if you haven't heard from us please check online or give us a call.
Because the automatic notification system is still not functioning fully, you will not receive reminders about due dates. Please keep your checkout slips, check online, or call us to verify if something is due or needs renewing.
NEWEST INFORMATION ON AUTOMATIC NOTIFICATIONS, 8/30/19:
Starting today, OCPL will resume sending TEXT and EMAIL notices, but NO PHONE CALLS yet. Please be aware that the only way to make the system fully functional is to go back in time to July 12, when the system went down. This means that in addition to current notices you might also receive old notices for items that you have already picked up and/or returned. Read the notices carefully, and please call us if you have any questions or concerns.
And thank you for your patience and understanding during this time!

Our programs are going on as scheduled; check out all the September events in this newsletter and in our online event calendar!

We will keep you updated as changes occur. We thank you for your patience and we thank Onondaga County Public Library IT for all their hard work!

OCPL has a page with the latest updates on the situation.

If you have questions, please call us at 315.672.3661, email us at maxmemlib@yahoo.com or stop in. I appreciate your patience and understanding during this frustrating time; the library system has been working nonstop to fix this and hope for a repair soon. I will send out another message when everything is up and working. You can also watch our website and Facebook page.

Best,
Amanda E. Perrine
Director, Maxwell Memorial Library

Nature's Patterns
Acrylics by Dan Bacich
September 4 through 30

With a degree from Harvard College in Comparative Religion and Fine Arts, it is not surprising that Dan Bacich uses autumn leaves in his paintings as more than elements of beauty. Instead, they are design elements which convey, in the artist’s own words, “visual narratives and emotions.” A lecturer and adjunct professor for the McNair Scholars Program who teaches at SUNY Oswego, Syracuse University, and Cornell University, Mr. Bacich has exhibited his paintings and assemblages in many venues throughout New York State for more than 15 years. His work is featured in the current issue of International Artist Magazine (Number 128, August/September 2019).
