A bunch of tales I wanted to share with you

A tale I read

Reminder and Clarification by Emily Toder
[Reminder and Clarification by Emily Toder]

A tale I heard

Celebrity judge Robert Rinder on lying:

"The only time I've ever told a porky on television was that first day at Strictly Come Dancing.

There are lights in your face, and I've never said anything inauthentic, but I found myself staring down the glittery barrel of a camera and saying, 'My whole life, all I've ever wanted to do is get to Blackpool'."

A tale I saw

Trying Isn't Good Enough by Tanaka Fuego

A tale I wrote

Aaron never understood
how people only had one sugar
or - Heaven forbid - no sugars
in their tea these days.

He saw it as another sign
that the world was "going soft"
and felt personally attacked
when colleagues looked a little surprised
when he placed his order of

"Builder's. Milk and two sugars.
And three brown sugars.
And four tablespoons of icing sugar.
And a packet of Skittles.
STIRRED."
