Hey guys, luke here.. well just got back from the Simpson Mate’s Trip.. what an epic adventure, 5 episodes up on you tube now, show’s plenty of 4wd dune action, crossing the 60 m Eyre creek at over waist deep, and some awesome cookups.. that’s what it’s all about really, the Drifta Way, great tracks, well setup trucks, and cooking awesome meals with good gear.. can’t get much better : ) great to be out with the boys, relaxing yarning and cooking around the fire is almost important to do i reckon, reset from busy lifestyles, laughing and yarning around a fire is great for everyone to do every now and then : )
The new Drifta Recovery Range got a real workout.. we’ve been making soft shackles now for a month or so, and gave them a real test out in the desert.. the new bridle kit is the go, and a great way to start off with soft shackles.. so we making them all in house at Drifta, in what i have heard is Australia’s first soft shackle factory : ) i have 2 x 14 T soft shackles, ideal to connect to the recovery points of your vehicle, and one 20 T soft shackle, ideal to connect to a snatch rope / winch etc.. the bridle is a much better way to pull a vehicle in a recovery situation, as distributes the load evenly on the vehicle.. the 3.5 m 20 T bridle, can be looped around your bullbar, so is quick and easy to grab in a recovery situation.. stuck in the middle of a deep creek is not the ideal time to be reaching under the vehicle trying to connect ropes up, so yeah the bridle is the go.. also can be used as a short winch / snatch extension, if needed..
We going a new way now with some products, and offering a choice.. so the recovery bridles and soft shackles will be from either chinese origin rope, or australian rope, and also still we offering the American rope products.. we’ve been asked many many times for a long time about offering some more affordable items, and here they are.. still made in Australia, at Drifta HQ, but from Chinese rope so is much more affordable for some people.. the Chinese rope actually tested as good, on the graph slightly better than the Australian rope, so, it’s certainly not inferior quality rope.. anyway , check them out, and our many other products we always have coming along.. thank you : ) L

The difference between the new Xtreme and the standard Maxtrax Mark II are the 88 replaceable hard anodised alloy teeth. If you spin your wheels on the plastic teeth you can damage them and have to replace the whole Maxtrax to get the traction it used to give you. Xtreme can be fixed up by replacing the alloy teeth.

DRIFTA TREE STRAPS
These straps are used in the lifting industry but also work perfect as recovery ropes. They are marked with work load limit. This is the ideal load that the strap will hold for ever. The breaking point is around 8x that value if pulled at one point. If you double it like shown on the pictures around a tree you will get breaking point value x2 so that turns a 24T strap in to a 48T which is plenty.
