UCLG World Congress in Durban: registration is open
United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) will hold its World Congress from 11 to 15 November in Durban, South Africa. This World Summit of Local and Regional Leaders is the largest gathering of mayors, presidents of regions, governors, networks of cities and local and regional experts in the world. CLIMATE FINANCE
The City Finance Lab launches its second call for proposals to support cities in structuring their climate finance solutions
The City Finance Lab (CFL), a joint venture between EIT Climate-KIC & South Pole and FMDV as implementing partner, opens its second call for ideas for cutting edge climate finance solutions for cities. CFL provides technical assistance to European local governments to structure and prepare innovative climate finance solutions. The call for proposals runs until 31st October 2019 and finalists will be announced by mid-December 2019. Interested cities, city networks, utilities, and financial institutions are invited to take part in the initiative here. [+ info]
Contribution to the 'Finance Day" of ICLEI's Resilient Cities 2019 meetings in Bonn
FMDV is committed through numerous initiatives to promote improved access to climate finance for local and regional governments, and works closely with ICLEI on this thematic. The Executive Director was invited to present the conditions and opportunities to access climate finance for local governments during the plenary session of the "Finance" day of the Resilient Cities meetings.[+ info]
SMART CITIES
FMDV invited to present the impact of Smart Cities on local finances to the OECD
As part of the first round table on the theme of "Smart Cities and Inclusive Growth" organised by the OECD, the Executive Director of FMDV presented the experiences of smart solutions identified in the framework of the Uraia platform of several cities around the world that have had an impact on local finances in different areas: governance, transport, public lighting, water supply, the fight against fraud, etc.[+ info]

FMDV contributed to the second transnational conference on Community Land Trusts (CLT) in Europe
As partner of the Sustainable Housing for Inclusive and Cohesive Cities (SHICC) European program, FMDV has been contributing to the annual project conference. It took place in May 9-10 at the London City Hall. This has been the second transnational event with the last one held last year in Lille and plans for the third in 2020 in Brussels.[+ info]

Matchmaking: FMDV will facilitate a meeting between MEDEF international with the Government of Mexico City
A delegation from the French private sector of MEDEF International will make a visit to Mexico from October 14 to 16, 2019 and, within this framework, FMDV will facilitate a meeting with the Government of Mexico City, in which the CDMX projects and priorities, as well as the solutions of French companies in various sectors (transport, construction, waste management, water management, smart cities, eco-neighborhoods, energy), will be presented.[+ info]
Decentralized cooperation for climate action in Latin America is strengthened

Support Mexico City will host the Global Social Economy Forum (GSEF) 2020
On July 9, 2019, the Chief of Mexico City Government, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, and the Mayor of Seoul, Park Won Soon, announced that the 5th edition of The Global Social Economy Forum (GSEF) 2020 will take place from October 21 to 23 in Mexico City.
