Southwest Regional Education Cooperative (SWREC) is an agency serving 8 member public school districts in southwest New Mexico by providing professional development, classroom and leadership coaching, technical assistance and fiscal management.

Business Services

     Shining the spotlight on our Business Services team, they are located in our Truth or Consequences office and led by our business manager, Geralyn Bennett, who has been with SWREC for over 24 years.  Priscilla Cabral rounds this team out with roles in accounts payable/receivable, Medicaid billing, and is a Certified Procurement Officer for the REC and some of the district and charter schools we support.  She has been with SWREC since 2016.
 
             This mighty duo does an outstanding job managing multi-million dollar budgets and pride themselves in knowing that 'If you want compliance, we can keep you in line'!

... Our training center got a beautiful new facelift with new carpet, entranceway, and can accommodate 100 people?
...There are a series of quick 1-page overviews of each assessment program as well as a set of overviews specifically for parents and educators now available on the NMPED Assessment website?
...The Observation Tool formerly known as NMTEACH is now known as the NM Interim Feedback & Observation Plan and has changed from 5 levels to 4 levels, eliminating Level 5 (Exemplary) in all four domains? 
  • The Levels of Performance are: Innovating, Applying, Developing, and Not Demonstrating.
  • Each teacher shall receive a minimum of one observation during this school year.  Best Practice does indicate that Level 1 teachers should receive 2 observations.  Districts may add additional observations as they deem necessary.
  • Each teacher shall receive three walkthroughs that are focused on feedback around the elements and domains of the rubric.
