Family Update
We have arrived in Burkina with all of our luggage and all doing well! We praise the Lord for being with us on the journey and that the girls did super well on the plane rides. Briella, Lilya and I have been sick some with stomach things but doing better now. We came back to our home in great condition and all of our animals doing super well. We were so proud of our guards for taking care of everything while we were gone. Right now we are working on just getting things organized and settled for the upcoming school year and trying to finish things in our home. In the next week, we will have all of our interior doors made and we will finally have a dining room table and chairs. Barto was really sweet and found me a stove/oven since I have only been cooking on a gas hot plate since we moved to Burkina. It will be nice to be able to make other meals now and have an area for our family to sit together!

We are still in need of $4,000 to be able to tile and paint our house and also get more solar ceiling fans and batteries to finish everything in our home. But we enjoy being here even if it is a work in progress! Tuesday night prayer nights are back in session, this last week Barto showed the Jesus Film in the tribal language. He was able to find other Christian films that have been translated into Moore so the people in our village can come and see. We had around 60 people show up to see it this week. Our girls are growing up fast, and we are so proud of them as they transition into a different culture and climate. Right now, it is the raining season, so it’s not as hot and it rains almost everyday. Everyone has loved meeting Felicity and the other girls have loved being with Barto’s dad a lot.

School Update/Sponsorship

All of the bricks have been made, and the foundation has been dug! Now, they are starting to build the foundation of the school. Our contractor had a meeting with us the other week and told us that the government has made some regulations and they only allow grade school buildings to be 3-classrooms. So our design of the 5-classroom school building will not work. So our contractor said he is going to make two 3 classroom school buildings instead of one big 5 classroom one. It is a blessing in disguise because now, we will have enough classrooms to start second grade next year in these buildings. So, we will need to raise a little more money, since we will be building 6 classes instead of 5. We should know soon what the amount will be that we will still need to raise.

We are so blessed by everyone’s generosity in making everything happen. We only need to raise another $3,500 in building the outdoor bathrooms, teacher’s home, desks, and paperwork for the school. Please be praying for everything as this coming month we will be doing the paperwork we need to do for the school along with our teachers training time. The teachers are so excited to get started! Please also be praying for the children that will be coming, and for all that God has in store for them in this coming school year.

We are still in need of 12 more sponsors for our school. We are looking for people who would like to give $50 a month and sponsor either the preschool or first grade classrooms. This money will go towards paying our teachers, guards, cleaning lady, and supplies needed to run it monthly. If you would like to help out in anyway, just let us know!

Prayer Requests:
  • For Felicity, Briella, and Lilya to stay healthy.
  • For the Lord to give us wisdom as we are back in Burkina and starting everything.
  • Financial needs to be met for other building projects and sponsorship program.
  • Our teachers’ hearts to be ready to teach and love on all of the kids
  • Language for Tenielle—to improve my Moore and French
  • Our students and their parents to be open to hear and receive the gospel through this school year
  • Safety issues and political unrest in Burkina Faso
