WHAT TO EXPECT

I suspect everyone has a story of a do-it-yourself project.  What was yours? A DIY patio or the shelving in the garage?

Our DIY projects sometimes turn out well; other times they can be a disaster (remember that DIY plumbing job?). On this Labor Day weekend, we will be looking at DIY projects when it comes to living out our faith.

I hope you will take a break from any DIY projects you may have going on to join us and center yourself in the goodness of God’s grace as we gather around the communion table. The texts forming the background for our service are: Jeremiah 2:4-13Hebrews 13:1-8Luke 14:7-14.

So much bounty has been happening at EBPC, I hope you will take a look at what has been going on.

Can you believe it? In less than 10 days, Zach & Maggie, Nate Strasser and Friends and Odessa Settles and The Settles Connection will take the stage right in our backyard! That same day, we'll have food trucks, lawn games, arts and crafts and more at our Family Fun Zone. We had a biggest crowd yet last year, and we look forward to another big turnout this year. If you haven't yet, make sure you visit musicinthegrove.com to learn more about our bands and everything that is offered at Music in the Grove this year!

It is an all-hands on project involving dozens of volunteers, and we need your help!

EBPC Mentor Presented Confirmands
to EBPC Session

Parents bestow blessing on each youth

Last Sunday, our EBPC confirmation youth (who started meeting in January) met with the Session for one of our more meaningful meetings of the year. Starting the meeting, the youth presented their “journey of faith” statements as part of their desire to join the church. Then, mentors of each Confirmand presented them to the Session for membership. Lastly, after the presentation by the mentors, the parents of each Confirmand came to the center of the community circle with their youth, and parents shared a blessing for their children. The blessing reflected character traits the parents see in their child or children, and the parents’ hope for their son or daughter’s faith development. Touching words were shared. The Kleenex box was passed. Love abounds!

The youth will be welcomed and recognized during the Confirmation Service during the worship service at 10 a.m. on September 8th.
