TETRAMAX Newsletter, September 2019

Dear Colleague,

We are now right in the middle of the four years TETRAMAX term. Amongst countless other project activities, we have supported and co-funded 25+ pan-European Technology Transfer Experiments (TTX) so far, 12 of which are already completed and have delivered strong results. In this newsletter, you can find an inspiring success story of TTX “TEBIX”. Further examples are available in some short video clips on our YouTube channel.

Currently, three new open calls for TTX proposals of different flavors are available at www.tetramax.eu. We cordially invite you to participate and to receive up to EUR 100,000 of TETRAMAX funding. As always, we operate with lean proposals, short time-to-TTX, and decent acceptance rates.

I´m also excited about the upcoming 2nd Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) meeting on 26 September in Aachen. The annual IAB meetings with high-caliber industry managers constitute major project milestones and bring together the entire TETRAMAX community.

Looking forward to meeting many of you there!

The TETRAMAX summer school 2019

For the second time now, the TETRAMAX summer school offered a challenging course track during the ACACES summer school in Fiuggi, Italy. It was a unique opportunity for young researchers to learn from and get inspired by renown experts in business skills.

The TETRAMAX summer school focuses on startup and business skills for researchers thinking about starting a new business.
This year, world class experts such as Matthew MaMassimo Vanzi and Bart Clarysse shared their insights, advice and knowledge with this motivated group of researchers.  The classes were well received and the interaction with the students made it truly inspiring for all.

Tetramax Emergency Beacon Integration eXperiment: a successful collaboration!

TETRAMAX selected the TEBIX, Tetramax Emergency Beacon Integration eXperiment, for financial support within its first open call for Bilateral Technology Transfer Experiments (TTX) in 2018. This support was a defining factor in the successful cooperation between the Dutch SME Montr and Norwegian SME Smarthelp.

In this experiment, Montr transferred its Narrowband (NB) IoT emergency button technology (licensed) to Smarthelp, who integrated this technology into their system. By pairing the Narrowband IoT emergency button with the Smarthelp system emergency services, friends or family can be alarmed by just the click off a button, even in the most challenging circumstances. In short: it’s a GDPR compliant and fully encrypted technology for personal security and alarm messaging.

The TETRAMAX support was a defining factor in the successful cooperation between both SMEs. It resulted in new customers for Smarthelp system immediately afterwards the TTX in the spring of 2019.
