Hope all is well with you!

WFYI is getting ready for a busy month and I wanted to share a few highlights!

The FALL RADIO DRIVE is coming up –we will continue to NOT interrupt the news & information that you rely on hearing from NPR during the drive. Instead we’ll remind listeners to support trusted news and compelling storytelling during natural breaks. This year we are trying something new – You can offer a $500 Recorded Corporate Match for the Fall Radio Drive AND record a “Why I Support” message which will air during the month of December. It is an easy way to support WFYI and remind our loyal listeners your organization is a loyal supporter of public media. Let me know if you want to learn more!

2020 ELECTION SEASON IS COMING…(or already here?)
As you know, 2020 is a big election year which means we will all be facing a barrage of political advertisements on commercial television and radio stations making it difficult to escape. In fact, Kantar Media is projecting spending on political advertising will be more than $6 billion.

Did you know that WFYI DOES NOT ACCEPT POLITICAL ADVERTISING? Public media's political ad-free environment will be a welcome space for non-political clients with a desire to avoid being bumped OR sandwiched between negative political messaging.  This is the primary reason why our audience INCREASES during election years. As you consider your marketing plans for 2020, please keep WFYI in mind as an avenue to reach an educated, engaged audience in an uncluttered environment. You can read more here…

SPECIAL PREVIEW OF COUNTRY MUSIC
Ken Burn’s Country Music starts September 15…you can be one of the first to get a sneak peek at a FREE screening at the Hilbert Ciricle Theatre on Thursday, September 5 at 7:00 pm. Click here to get your tickets and please let me know if you are planning to attend. We are having a VIP Reception prior to the screening (at 5:30 pm) and I will add you to the list.

WFYI’S LISTEN UP 2020
We are excited for WFYI’s Listen Up, presented by Lumina Foundation & Sierra Nevada on September 19 with RADIOLAB’S JAD ABUMRAD. This is the final conversation in our series for 2019…but we are kicking 2020 off a month early with a very special Listen Up featuring RICK STEVES!
It will be Sunday December 1 at Clowes. Tickets are on sale tomorrow. Let me know if you are interested in learning more.

CLIENT SURVEY RESULTS
Earlier this year, I sent out a survey to get feedback on how you utilize WFYI as part of your marketing plans. You can see the results here. My favorite part of the survey…reading the messages about why our clients are using WFYI!

If you have any questions or want to let me know why you support WFYI, get in touch!

Thanks,
Stacey
