Hurricane Dorian Update
Thursday, Aug. 29, 12:30 p.m.
Flagler College’s Emergency Operations Team met this morning to discuss plans for Hurricane Dorian and is continuing to work closely with St. Johns County Emergency Management officials. The team will meet again this afternoon to make a decision on the status of campus and classes for next week, and will release an official announcement by the end of the day.
At this time, all Flagler College classes and services remain on schedule.
Announcements on status of campus and classes will be sent via email, posted on social media, or pushed through the LiveSafe App, so be sure to monitor those mediums closely.
The decision to evacuate St. Augustine and the area of the College will be made by St. Johns County Emergency Management Office, and in that eventuality, we will communicate it to you immediately.
If you and your student are feeling restless and feel uncomfortable waiting for an official word from the institution, we encourage you to use your best judgment and feel empowered to make a personal decision regarding your student's travel plans. If the campus does evacuate, we will need your student to complete the Hurricane Information Form which will be sent to all students, residential and commuter, via email and social media.
Please continue monitoring these Flagler College communication channels for future advisories:
• Campus e-mail (for students, faculty and staff)
