The Initiation Program (IP) offered by YMH is full gear hockey for players ages 5 and 6 years old. While some skating ability helps, our very patient coaches work on the FUNdamental skating and stick handling skills using various drills; but our primary focus is introducing a fun, low stress learning environment for these young athletes to learn the game of hockey.

All our coaches are trained through the Saskatchewan Hockey Association and held to Hockey Canada’s standards.  The program offers ice sessions two days per week along with additional tournaments, where individual players learn team comradery - building friendships that last for years to come!

All registered IP Players will be encouraged to attend the SHA IP Jamboree on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019 from 11:00 AM - 1:45 PM at Yorkton's Farrell Agencies Arena.  Regular IP programming will begin the week following this Jamboree.
