Sarah Semmler Smith Named New Campus Pastor

Finlandia University is excited to introduce its new pastor, Sarah Semmler Smith. Semmler Smith is moving to the area after spending the past six years as an associate pastor at Trinity Lutheran Churchin Eau Claire, WI. 

Anastazia Hartman to lead social media efforts

Anastazia Hartman is the newest member to join Finlandia’s marketing and communications department as a social and digital media specialist. An avid hockey player, she earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism: public relations with a minor in advertising from Central Michigan University. 

Finnish ties grow stronger with Administrative Assistant & Alumna Natalia Borgen

Finlandia University is pleased to welcome alumna Natalia Borgen to the FinnU family. Borgen is serving as the Administrative Assistant for Suomi College of Arts & Sciences (SCAS) and International School of Business (ISB).

FinnU Community Reminded to Update to REAL ID by Oct. 1, 2020

On Oct. 1, 2020, the federally mandated REAL ID law goes into full enforcement, and if you travel by air, this law will impact you. If you haven’t been paying attention to REAL ID, it’s time to get informed.

This Week in Finlandia Athletics Slide This week Kevin Ericson is joined by head women's volleyball coach Brian Laampa. Laampa discusses the move back to the copper country, how he hopes to grow with his young team in his first season and the bonding that takes place on the road. He also talks about the upcoming away games this weekend against UW-Superior and his excitement for the sisu classic at home later in the year.

Linteo Named ACAA Player Of The Week

ACAA WSOC POW Linteo Freshman Sam Linteo has been named the American Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) Defensive Player of the Week for women's soccer. Members of the ACAA are Finlandia, Mills, Mount Mary, Pine Manor, Pratt, UC Santa Cruz and Valley Forge.

Z. Wichman MSOC 18 It was a long day as the Finlandia University men's soccer team (0-1-1) battled to a 0-0 tie with Lakeland (0-0-1) in double overtime, Saturday night at Ponzio Stadium.

Lions Whittle Down Lumberjills

Zuleiki Wight WSOC 18game Senior Zuleiki Wight helped the Finlandia University women's soccer team (1-1) rebound, literally and figuratively, in a 1-0 win over Northland (0-1), Saturday afternoon at Ponzio Stadium.
