This Rainbow around the eye of Dorian is a reminder of God's promise.

Dorian Update

Genesis 9:16...“Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”

Rock Harbor, just like the rest of the area, is putting all gatherings & services on hold until we see what the storm brings over the next few days.

One thing we know is that God brought us to Melbourne Beach for a reason and He uses all things for good.  We are proud to a part of this wonderful community and ready to be a part of whatever comes this week.  As you can see from the above picture...Mel Beach is on the barrier island and surrounded by water so please pray for this community (details on what to pray for below.)

Here is an update from Angie's Facebook page

"Update on the Diamonds... we are staying in a hotel in Orlando until hurricane Dorian passes because we have a mandatory evacuation. We have enjoyed using our passes to SeaWorld and Aquatica the past 2 days with great weather trying to take our minds off our first hurricane.

As I look at the NASA picture of the hurricane. I am reminded of God’s covenant and praying for all the people that are in the hurricanes path. Trusting God!

If you look at the picture of our neighborhood in Melbourne Beach...We are surrounded by water. Please pray for the people that have chosen to stay and that the hurricane shifts out away from all land.

There is so much unknown and waiting. We are in good spirits and happy to be together. Thanks for praying for us... will keep all our friends and family updated."

I apologize for this being late...but I didn't think it would take 24 hours to upload on the hotel internet!

This video was the promised message for Sunday since we were not having a service together. If you have time this week check out How to Walk in the F.O.G. (Favor Of God).

Sermon Notes are on the YouTube page...

RHFL E-Mail Prayer Chain

Join Our Praying Community Here

1 John 5:14, "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, He will hear us."

Let us pray together for whatever is happening in our lives whether it be a storm in the ocean or a storm in our lives.  This prayer chain is designed so that anyone who is in the group sends out a prayer request to the email address rhflprays@googlegroups.com it is instantly bounced to everyone that has signed up for the Rock Harbor Prayer Chain.

This Google Group set-up has been an effective way for our churches in the past to send out emails to our local church to lift up prayers together.  In fact...I remember the first time I used this was when I was alone in a hospital hallway waiting to be brought into the surgery room where Angie had been rushed to when her delivery of Preston was becoming increasingly difficult.  I grabbed my phone and sent out a quick prayer request and I knew that many people would be joining me in prayer almost instantly and then throughout the day.

This was shared by a fellow Covenant Pastor who is a chaplain at our Covenant Living Community in the Miami area...what a great reminder for prayer for the next few days...

If you feel compelled to pray about things related to hurricane Dorian, would you please include one, many, or all of these less obvious concerns in your prayers? I'll make this post public so you can share. Please pray for...

1. Individuals or families who already face food insecurity and who now have to figure out how to stock up on food. Or even those who HAVE food but the uncertain length of the storm makes them feel insecure.

2. Medically fragile people who face extra anxiety due to possible power outages, disconnection from medical care, etc.

3. Those who live alone and are not well connected to those in their communities, for the extra vulnerability and isolation they may feel.

4. People cut off from their families, especially if we lose cell/internet service.

5. Emergency services workers, hospital staff, senior/assisted living staff, and utilities staff who are working longer shifts and some in dangerous conditions. Especially for their safety, for rest, and for physical endurance.

6. Leaders who have to make critical decisions in high stress situations.

7. Safe shelter for the homeless.

8. Hourly workers who are financially vulnerable and who will lose hours and pay because of the storm.

9. For all... Anxious, tried, vulnerable people often speak and act from a place of stress and insecurity rather than the security they have. Pray that we would give each other grace when we snap or act out. If someone is acting out, may their hearers resist defensiveness, remain calm, and respond with kindness. We all need extra measures of patience and compassion these days.

10. For calm, cautious, courtesy and safe driving/drivers as we go about preparing for the storm.

Canceled for Wednesday, September 4th
