Finnish Hypnosis, Norwegian Pop Music and Icelandic Video Art at Nordisk Panorama Film Festival 2019

The tickets and programme for this year’s edition of Nordisk Panorama Film Festival has now been released.  The festival's 30th anniversary will be celebrated with a fully-packed festival programme in Malmö, Sweden 19–24 September.

The festival starts on Thursday, 19 September with a grand opening party and the screening of the Danish documentary Q's Barbershop, directed by Emil Langballe. Then five days will follow where you can experience the best Nordic short and documentary films. The festival concludes with an awards gala at Malmö’s Old City Hall where the winners of the five competition categories will be announced: Best Nordic Documentary, Best Nordic Short, New Nordic Voice, Young Nordic, and the City of Malmö's Audience Award.

This year the festival centre will be at Cinema Panora, where visitors can experience film gems from Nordisk Panorama 30-year film archive, enjoy food at JARS – popup eatery & bar, and mingle with filmmakers from all over the Nordic region. During the six days of the festival, guests can also attend seminars, master classes, and experience new VR projects.

Outdoor Screenings: 
After Dark + Once Aurora

Not only do we show film in the cinema, but also outside, in a bar, in a park! Nordisk Panorama invites you to two different outdoor screenings, Once Aurora about the indie pop music star Aurora, and a package of short films called After Dark: Nordic Nailbiters. 

We’ve joined curatorial forces with the terrific Lund International Fantastic Film Festival for this special shorts screening which will take you on an off-beat trip into the dark and fantastical side of filmmaking. Expect your mind to be warped and your senses to be ravished – and as a bonus you’ll see one of the strangest animated sexual encounters you’re ever likely to see, in Robin Jensen’s Farce.  

Free entrance to both screenings. You need to be 18 years of age or older to attend.

The festival nights will be filled with Nordic flavours and music. DJs and artists will give you the opportunity to shake your legs, still your thirst and give that extra party dimension to your festival experience. Free entrance all night long.

Nordisk Panorama Happy Hours
Join your film industry colleagues for the daily Happy Hour where we meet, talk and connect casually with old and new friends. Friday is hosted by BUFF, Saturday by DocLounge, Sunday by the Swedish Film Institute and Monday by Raina Film Festival Distribution.
