We are delighted to welcome an iridescent and intuitive techno DJ - Sybil, to our roster.
Busy cutting her teeth on pivotal parties in London and beyond, her DJ sets have a vulnerability and intensity that's at turns playful, hard and euphoric. Drawing from a palette of pulsating techno, hard broken rhythms and darker shades of trance, Sybil’s high energy sets create psychedelic vortexes which are both alien and transcendent. Her rapid mixing style and verve behind the decks build feelings of ascension through dancefloor kinship.
Recently Sybil had the honour of closing the festival for Berlin Atonal after a summer of debuts at Berghain's Säule, Fabric, De School, Glastonbury and WHOLE festival. Previously she has appeared at some of our favourite parties including Brutaż - Warsaw, ZVUK - Kazakhstan, Honey Soundsystem - San Francisco, Timedance - Bristol, Norbergfestival, Room 4 Resistance - Berlin and Make Me - London.
Whilst Sybil’s club sets are geared for energetic dance floor exhilaration, her mixes are notable for their highly visual narrative arcs. Subtly accelerating and decelerating between disparate BPMs, she stitches together music from a broad palette of genres and textures, contrasting new finds with long forgotten gems to create stories which are both rewarding and immersive.
“Sybil took us into deep, dark techno territory with the skill and panache of a DJ twice her age...simply one of the most satisfying and serious techno mixes we’ve heard in ages. Relentless, psychedelic and oddly unsettling, it’s an expertly engineered voyage featuring Oliver Ho, Legowelt and similar darkroom delights.” FACT’s best mixes March
